All you girls out there who love a good inspirational story like me (holla!) have got to check out this list of awesome books by awesome people who shared their awesome stories. That’s a lot of awesome.

1.Kisses From Katie by: Katie Davis
Katie Davis is amazing. She’s a saint. The first time I read her story about becoming a missionary and a mom of 14 girls at the age of 19, I wanted to drop everything and go live in Uganda (where she lives). This book will make you laugh, cry, and wish you had that great of a relationship with Christ as she does.

2. The Magnolia Story by: Chip and Joanna Gaines
Ok who hasn’t heard of Chip and Jo? They’re hot stuff. In this memoir they talk about how they met, when they began flipping houses, and their relationships with Christ. Wonderful people and a wonderful read.

3. Lies Young Women Believe (and the truth that sets them free) by: Nancy Leigh DeMoss and Dannah Gresh

This book is hands down the most insightful book about young women and our struggles I have ever read. The authors explain things in a new light and don’t talk down on the readers who’ve not taken their advice. They create a sense of community with this book that will help you feel like you’re not alone the next time you come across a sticky situation.

4. A Heart Like Jesus by: Max Lucado
This book hit me hard. This book challenges you in every aspect of your life with one simple question: can you imagine if you and Jesus switched places for a day and he got to walk in your shoes? Boom. Makes you think.

5. Popular by: Maya Van Wagenen
This is a great memoir about Maya growing up feeling ugly, alone, and out of place. Do you relate? I know I can. She is an amazing writer and published this book when she was only in high school. Amazing, right? Check it out.

6. Praying for Your Future Husband (preparing your heart for his) by: Robin Jones Gunn and Tricia Goyer
For all of the girls who are waiting for the “one”, this is the boom for you. The authors transform your way of thinking and help you start to get a grip on this whole “love thing.” I’ll talk about this book/topic a little more in an upcoming post.

7. What Happens When a Young Woman Says Yes to God by: Lysa and Hope Terkeurst
Are you unsure about what to do next in life? Do you feel that God is trying to lead you to the next step but are afraid to follow Him? I encourage you to read this book. I did and it gave me courage to start this blog. Whatever you are going through, saying “yes” to God is always worth the risk.
